The Triple W accessories are painted by GLOMA,® Lda. according to the following procedure:
- The parts are degreased and polished to improve the adhesion of the paint;
- A special two-component primer is applied, which is then hardened in an oven at approximately 100 degrees Celsius for 60 minutes;
- Finally, a two-component polyurethane paint is applied, which is hardened in an oven at approximately 100 degrees Celsius for approximately 60 minutes.
The paint finish is in accordance with the Catim certificate, which can be found at https://gloma.pt/certificates/ element. The paint finishes are always presented with a satin finish.
Paint for what?
In addition to the aesthetic benefit of ensuring that the equipment has the same colour as the application base, or contrasting depending on the desired decoration, the paint has the advantage of protecting the equipment from the corrosive and oxidising effects of the sea air.
Many of Triple W's locks are made of stainless steel and are IP55 certified, which gives them high resistance to dust and water jets.
However, protection against salt spray can only be achieved by means of good lacquer protection, using a special paint layer for this purpose.
An alternative to painting is to permanently grease the piece with petroleum jelly or other grease.
